Together we focus on the longings of the soul, the needs of your heart and the reactions of your body. We encourage the mind to respect, honour and listen to all parts of self.
My Approach
I am committed to embracing each person’s heritage, knowledge and identity and designing therapy that is best suited to them.
Together we develop an understanding of your motivations, strengths and values. We work through what might be holding you back from connecting to yourself and others authentically.
A safe space is created for you to share your story without judgement, while exploring new perspectives.
If appropriate, somatic meditations, working with nature, art or movement may be incorporated.
Key points to my approach
-
My passion
is going beyond the limits put on me by myself and others, and helping others to do the same.
-
I see you as your own sovereign guide.
Within you is the multiverse. I am not here to tell you what to do. I am here to remind you of what you already know.
-
Self-compassion brings change,
and it is the medicine we use in sessions to heal our wounds and bring insight. Self-compassion is not the same as self-pity, it does not feel sorry for the self but offers understanding.
-
Exploring all aspects of our knowing.
When we explore a challenge/difficulty together, we can bring it to all aspects of who we are. This means that we can explore our connection to our heart, spirit, mind and body.
-
Sacred space is held
as an invitation for the unknown. We can choose to allow that which is beyond our mind, and beyond the physical realm, to show up and reveal itself. Entering into realms that our dreamworlds show us, dynamic realms of endless possibility and encountering our own divinity through that.
-
The Shadow
Often there are aspects of ourselves that we have decided (consciously or unconsciously) that we don’t like, think are wrong or are scared of, and we push these parts of ourselves away or bury them. Through facing these parts and understanding them, we can begin to see ourselves in a whole new light.
-
Listening to the body
is crucial to understanding ourselves and is an integral part of our work together. Once we listen to our body, we can learn how to focus our mind and release and regulate our emotions.
-
We all have an inner child.
Our childhood experiences in the past shape our present. We often see the world as if what happened then is still happening now. It is possible to release pain from the past and to feel that the present can be different. This is also true for past life trauma, and can be released in the same way.
Humour
is an essential part of life to me, and therefore an essential part of our work together. If we can’t laugh at ourselves and see the funny side of our time together, then that’s no fun!
I am determined to still have some serious laughs. 😊
